the cure?

Brian, when is the damage done? When the embryo is used for the research? Or when it is thrown out because it cannot be used for research?

Happily, I understand, but you do not plan when tragdy strikes, so if you were in the hospital and needed the cure, would you wait to reseacrh where it came from? And, would you do that every time, with every medication? I know it is hard to assume what it is like to face death, but many people who have faced it have shown to do just about anything to remain alive...

No way. This researcher is a conservative republican that also happens to support stem cell research 100%. I guess that's the liberal coming out in me.

Yes, if it came from federal funds. I don't want taxpayer dollars to pay for the destruction of embryos.

No one even knows if embryonic stem cell research even works. It's only a theory right now.

But, embryonic stem cell research goes on every day in America - with private funds.

President Bush's veto only bars federal tax money to pay for the destruction of embryos. Which is fair.

Many people have reasonable beliefs that tax dollars should not be utilized to destroy embryos.

You and I were once embryos, you know.

Why doesn't anyone understand that these stem cells are from fertility clinics and are going to be destroyed anyway!?!?! It's f*&#@ing driving me crazy!!!!!!!

I lost a very close relative to cancer 2 years ago, she was 55, I would do ANYTHING to find a cure!

No I wouldn't.

I don't get into the stem cell research debates because I don't know enough about it.

A lot of my fellow conservatives are against it, but I want to further research it before I give an opinion on it.

Nobody would. There are lots of things in medicine that were developed using various disreputable methods. Nobody ever turns down any of them.

No. The damage is done why compound it. It would also even further degrade the life that was destroyed by refusing to accept what it gave it's life for.

There is no doubt that if there was a demand for more embryos for research purposes that they would be created solely for that purpose. Anyone who believes otherwise is simply naive.

Absolutely. There is no debate. Those who wish to make it a debate are simply wrong. THERE IS NO DEBATE.
