No because first you might not see it coming
Second it would be likely for it to kill you anyways.
Although lions do react to certain physical behaviors such as running away if it would trap you in a corner it would eventually attack you even if you didn't react at that moment
It might stall him a bit but it certainly wouldn't adopt you.
If a lion was truly hungry it wouldn't matter if you stayed still or ran away it would catch you
The only other thing you could do to ward of a lion would be to make loud noises or make yourself seem bigger.
Lions don't normally consider humans for prey but they will in some cases.
In contrary to your theory;
what about the people that died in Kenya because of lion attacks . They never expected for the lion to be there and it probably attacked them while their backs were turned. Im sure that in whatever which way they reacted they would have been killed anyways because they were ambushed.
So my final answer would be that although lions don't regularly attack humans, if you were to react differetly than prey or not react at all the lion IF it was hunting you down would attempt to kill you either way.
I
hope this answered your question

How much they attack the prey depends on a number of factors including how much experience the animal had with dealing with young/immobile prey. A young lion would probably let you go, a more saavy adult would probably chew on you for a while just to make sure and it's fairly certain that after a few chews you'd be making at least some attempt to escape. It also would make a difference as to whether the lion had any previous experience with humans. Generally wild animals who have had no experience or bad experiences with people would avoid you but those who have co-habitated in close proximity to human settlements would be more likely to investigate and try a few tastes before determining if you were edible or not.

Unlikely - lions have an excellent sense of smell and if you smell 'wrong' (to the lion's point of view) then it may attack anyway, regardless of whether it can see you clearly or not.
I've never heard of a lion adopted the young of another species. In terms of freezing when you're approached by a lion, well you could give it a try, but I'd recommend not being their at all!

I too have heard about this particular issue of prey not reacting to the danger and the predator not attacking... however, I imagine that a hungry enough lion would still likely eat you up, particulary if it has attacked humans before and knows that we're just pink, squishy, and tastylicious.

I think you've been watching too many Disney nature films.
If a lion is on your trail, he will recognize your smell, and he also has very good vision.
So hiding from a lion, unless you are hiding inside a concrete block building with a strong door and no windows, will do you no good. You'd shortly be processed into lion poop.

I have stopped the snarling of vicious dogs by looking them in the eye and knew that were one. The dogs sometimes go lay down. But many tines they become friendly. Once when I was inspecting houses the owner claimed that I did not inspect because his dog would never let me in. Fortunately my company required that we mark every corner with our initials and the date.

They can smell fear. If you were to react in that way i'm sure they wouldn't attack you right away, but with their animal instincts to kill, i'm sure it wouldn't take that long.

If you run it will chase you so it's best to stand your ground and make yourself look more formidable by waving your arms and yelling at it.
