I am more than annoyed with kids who seem to be attached to their cell phones. In fact , for a long time, I thought that kids had cell phones that grew out of their ear. The danger comes when they walk across the street, without looking right or left with on coming traffic. My curiosity is boundless. Can you tell me what kids talk about for hours and hours? Especially the ones who start talking to their gf's or bf's that they have spent the entire day with? It is more concern then annoyance.

At walmart they have something called a tracphone. It is a phone that you buy a card with minutes on it and add them by phone or the internet. Or if you have it connected with a credit card, you can buy more minutes from the tracphone. The great thing about tracphone is that often times they will double your minutes after you buy a card for no reason. But its cheaper than a regular cellphone, and once the minutes are gone, you can't text anymore or call anymore so you won't go over your family's budget, which i think is your parents concern. They don't have too many types of phones, but I think that if you tell your parents about this then they might actually let you. And if that doesn't work, say if they buy you the phone that you will do extra housework for the minutes each week. That should help too.

i dont' get the need for kids to have cell phones, I baby sit a girl who is 9 and has a freaking razor....and has had a phone since she was in the 1st grade! My phone is litterally being held together by scotch tape because my contract runs out in a week and Im to cheap to go get a new one, and even when I do I don't need the Iphone or anything ridiculous like that!
I think when a kid starts driving, sure then its a good idea, but before that they are just pissin away money. I had a friend like yours every time we went out to eat she would get on the phone with her Boyfriend and start a fight so everyone would look at her, adn pay no attention ot the people she was with. My sis uses somewhere aroung 7000 texts a month.....CRAZY if you ask me!
I didn't get a phone till I graduated high school, and as soon as I got out of college my parents handed me the bill (the phone was my Grad present and I paid for my own college-which I'm VERY proud of!) I survived just fine without one glued to my ear and I do agree, these kids are ridiculous!

I'm 15, almost 16, and I usually have my phone with me, but I'm not always talking on it. I got mine after my parents decided I should have my own in case of an emergency or if practice ran late or we got held up at a competition. However, I see a lost of people that are constantly on their phones talking to God knows who, so some people vary in the way they use their phones. I did see a kid the other day, couldn't have been older than 12 with a phone, now, what does she need it for? She's not even in high school. I think that if you're not in high school, you don't need a phone, unless you're always getting lost.

Well, I'm 14, but I don't have a cell phone, and I don't think I need one. No, I do not think it's wrong to be fascinated with cell phones... it's just the same way I'm kinda addicted to Yahoo! Answers... just because I'm not obsessed with cell phones doesn't mean it's wrong to be.

I work in a fast food restaurant (the golden arches of hell) part time. I truly hate it when people are talking on there phone when i'm trying to give them what they came in for. Esp. in the drive through.
The last time someone was on there phone and wouldn't put it down I told her "I'm sorry I interrupted your phone call to serve you" Yeah, that isn't the Golden arches (of hell) way, but enough is enough.
Put down the phone, you are not that important!!!!

I totally agree with you. I'm 14 and I hate people who all they do is use their cellphone. My friend was like that until she lost hers (Thank GOD!) and now she can't get another. But she was on it 24/7. There would be a phone right next to her that wouldn't use her minutes and she would have to use her cellphone anyways. She never put it down. I sware. She even slept with it in her hand. >.> <.<
