Ok, so this is our first baby. : ) My husband's family and extended family is KNOWN for boys. Since the sex of the baby is determined by the man's chromosomes, what's the chances that we can have a girl? I'm asking because all of my friends think I'm having a girl but I don't think it's possible! (well it's possible but not likely, right?)

I read an article once that said that you can sometimes determine the sex by looking at what the man's brothers children are. My husband has two brothers. One has 4 girls, the other has a girl. No boys at all. I am 30 weeks with a little boy.

My husbands side of the family is the same way. Pretty much all boys. My side is mixed with boys and girls as well. I had a son my 1st pregnancy and I am pregnant with a girl now. In my opinion it just depends on if a "boy" or "girl" sperm get through. Good luck!

50% chance it'll be a girl, 50% chance it'll be a boy. I really don't think there's a genetic disposition for having a boy or a girl. My mother's family consists of 5 girls and one boy and she had one girl and two boys. It's just chance and nature, whichever little sperm gets to the egg first.

From what ive read its all about the 50/50, but if your opting for a girl here is something ive herd-

Eat mor dairy, spicy for a boy, but hopefully you would love whatever you get, hell you may get luck and have both!! wether its seperate or all in one!

It's always 50-50, regardless of any family history.

I really don't think it's determined by history. I could be wrong, but I think it's just according to which sperm gets to the egg first :)
