I named 5 traits that I had wanted and refused to let go of any of them and ended up with a great woman. There was alot of alone time and dates in between,but I did finally meet her and we have been together for several years.

1. Good sense of humor
2. Intelligent
3. Kind (Not someone who has hardened because of not so good choices in life. By the way, people can always change.)
3. A femme who does things that promote her own self-respect and self-esteem.
4. Unselfish
5. If a relationship problem arises, I would hope she would be willing to admit fault and say "I am sorry I hurt you" if indeed she was the one who made a mistake. Some people can get so angry and are not willing to admit when they are wrong but only fuel more and more anger on the other person. Scary to have to tip-toe around on egg shells for fear of your loved one's anger!! Anger can be used as a defense mechanism to shut people out. Good relationship skills can be acquired if one seeks.

I would like; fairness, honesty, integrity, intelligence and humour in an individual.
Not a; sexist, racist, ageist, arrogant or bigoted clone type.
It's hard to surrender to a top five! Eeeeek! What a question!
Given my gender persuasion/hetero biology... 'male' is a given...ok, she giggles. How did I get here? Well I just love the questions my friends ask and I don't bother looking at the destinations...LOL! Besides these things are universal...I just love that. Something 'some people' on R&S need reminding of!

after going around the block of life a time or two, I learned that the most beautiful or hunky person can be the absolute worst and hard to maintain person there is, so beauty or image is "out"
I'd say in these uncertain times they should be
1. someone who respects me and is dignified who wishes the same
2. someone with their act together and do not need to be supported emotionally, financially, or spiritually
3. someone who loves to talk or converse and can dream with me together for a brighter tomorrow
4. someone with great inlaws who will leave us alone and not pop in on us and love to get together and party from time to time
5. someone who is progressive, evolves with time, and loves to read, learn and enjoy art/creativeness

Some of these came out of bad experiences in previous relationship, and with this I ended up with my wonderful wife of 6.5 years.
