They suffer from a disorder called "Selective Hearing" which means anything associated with their parents is automatically tuned out. I have an antidote, it's called "Make Me Call Your A-- One More Time and I'm Coming In There"!

maybe they have their music on at one time and not the other... or maybe they are preoccupied when you are calling them and not when they hear the ice cream truck...
or maybe they just dont like you...or dont 'feel like'doing something at the time
they are all possibilities

Selective hearing is a trait that is normal in little spuds on planet Russet...must be the same here...my kids just take their ears out...but they can still hear the Tater scream at 'em to pop 'em back in...

It's called selected hearing loss. It USUALLY goes away...about the time THEY have kids needing a midnight feeding/changing!

Selective hearing for sure. Mine can't hear me holler from around the corner, but he can hear me wisper something to my wife that doesn't involve him 2 rooms away!
