Get behind the dash
Find the plug that connects to the cig lighter
Cut the wire leaving plenty of wire behind the cig lighter
Use a multimeter to determine which is the power and which is the ground (coming from the engine bay, not the cig lighter plug)
Strip the wires coming from the cig lighter,
bolt the ground into any bolt that connects to metal,
splice the power into your stereo's memory (or always on) wire.

If you don't have a multimeter you can always wire it one way then reverse if it doesn't work. After you test the wires you'll probably want to pull your negative battery cable. Be careful that you don't touch the power cable with your bare hands while the battery is still plugged in!

I was under the impression that the lighter circuit stayed on even with the key off. Since that must not be the case, then you need to wire it to a fuse that is always hot. Go to the fuse block and try and find a hot one. Just be sure to come off the hot side and not the fused side. You will also need to add an in-line fuse 30A I believe, however it could be 20A. You get the idea. good luck.

You can disconnect it's power wire & tape it off, run a wire from the fuse box to a rocker switch on the dash, run wire from switch to lighter. Use an internally lighted switch to remind you to turn it off.
