I think Youkulis and Lowell are completly different and it is hard to argue them. Lowell is a power hitter with a great glove and Youkulis is an on base guy. I think Youk has more potential because of his age and versatility though. Lowell is still a great player none the less.

I say overall Youkilis is better...he's younger, works the count, sprays the ball to all fields. Youkilis can play third, but he's primarily the Sox's firstbaseman, so you can't really compare the two defensively, especially when the only 2 errors Youk has came while playing third...Seeing how Lowell's hand is hurt and for some reason is under the delusion rest won't help it...i think his numbers are going to steadily go down.

Lowell is better at third but, Youk is better overall right now. I hope Lowell will take a break to let his thumb heal so that he can start producing again..He was doing great until he hurt that. I agree with Lowell at third and Youk at 1st and having them take turns depending on the pitcher when they play in a National League park.

Well Youk is younger and has better OBP, one of best in league. Lowell has more HR and RBI and is a gold glover at third. I say why choose. Play Lowell at 3B, Youk at 1st and platoon them at 3rd in NL parks to keep Papi at 1st.

but for a career its lowell. this is the first time youkalis has been getting starting time AND producin
lowell has been a starter for years. he was a team leader in florida and he was puttin up numbers comparable to ARod and Wright
