and the dogs begin to bark intensely, do you ignore them or get up and walk in the dark carrying your gun hoping you don't have to shoot anyone?

I let the doggy in at night. He growls, and I can tell if someone is trying to do something dumb by his tone. So far, I haven't had to shoot anyone :-} ... I usually get a peaceful nights sleep

I don't own a gun but if the dog barks I just yell at him to shut up or sometimes I just let him bark usually it doesn't bother me

It actually depends on their bark(s) my boys bark at the slightest sound so I ignore them. But they do have a bark that tells me something is wrong when I hear that bark I grab my sling shot and marbles and I go hunting for intruders.

i live on top of a hill and i have a huge yard and i have german shepards that weigh more than i do, so if thay start barking there is usually a coyote in the yard or something. there has only been one time where i found a person in my yard and scared the crap out of them because they saw my shot gun. but usually i ignore them. it really doesnt scare me to that point...

My dog only barks once or twice a year and it is bears that set him off. I don't do anything other than comforting him back into the house.

i look out the window to see if i see what they r barking at. usually lights from a car or something so I'm all good.

Well, my attack animals are cats...three of them! LOL Seriously, though, if anyone comes NEAR my house they run to the window or door, growling loudly all the way, just going nuts! Love guns, as long as we intelligent beings are handling them!

depends on the way they're barking... if they're barking as if someone is walking down the street i ignore them... if they're growling and going ape sh*t then I get scurred and hide under my blankies....

Neither! I just call them to come to me and they quiet down. Then I continue doing what I was doing in the first place.
