Maybe it's because I live in the midwest that the riders only have a few months every year to ride and get excited, but with no exceptions, EVERY idiot on (crotch rockets mostly) a motorcycle has to hold in the clutch and rev up their bike. Do they think people think that's cool? Definitley NOT cool when they pull in to my neighbors house at 3AM!

Depends....sounds like your neighbors are jackasses...however, there is a purpose to reving the motor while decelerating...

When slowing down and changing gears to a higher ratio, if you only pulled in the clutch and changed gears and let go of the clutch - the rear wheel would lock up momentarily, causing a skid. By reving the motor, you get the engine to match the tranny speed, thus eliminating the rear wheel locking up upon deceleration...

So, dont look down on us all, just because of your stupid, inconsiderate neighbors.

a mocho kinda thing then they can have everyone looking at them and then when he/she revs up their bike peoplel will notice but consider them a total idiot because doing it more than onc eis just completely concieted and thinking they are that when if they didn't have that bike they would be just someone on the sidewalk or the person with a neighbor that pulls into the house at 3 in the morning reving up their engine

They think that because THEY like the sound of it that all the neighbors like it too! WRONG! Nothing could be further from the truth! It just shows what attention-seeking assholes they are. I am NOT impressed at all!

LOL. It's not crotch rockets that have the loud exhausts.

I hold the throttle 'cause I'm too darn lazy to give the "idle adjust screw" a couple of turns.

No excuse for noise at 3am but in general they like the sound. It goes VROOOOM VROOOOM VROOOOM and your car goes pttttth ptttttth pthhhhht when you rev it. Now if your car went VROOOOM VROOOOM, you would probably be out there revving it up too.

And sorry for the previous comment about your wife. She wasn't really eying me up when I rode past. There is nothing going on between us. Honest.

probably becausethey don't have all yeaqr to ride it so they have to enjoy it while they can. and also probably because they payed soo much for it that they think they can do anything to make them feel that the money wasa worth it. also, because they can and like to make noise.

didn't you know? whenever anyone revs their bike an angel gets its wings.

- don't let it eat at you so much. take deep breaths and just let it go. it will be ok!

The guys who rev up their engines wear crazy pilgrim hats (like yours). Pass the turkey and gravy.
