I'm getting a EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB graphics card. And my princeton 19 inch lcd has a dvi and a vga port. But I only have the vga cord, but the 8800 won't support vga. But a dvi to vga converter is in the box with the 8800. Can i use the dvi to vga converter to use so that I don't need to buy another dvi to dvi cord?

Yes you can use the converter. Hopefully you power supply is a 450Watt or higher so that it can handle the power consumption of the 8800GTS. Good Luck HTH.

You can just use the connector to connect the VGA cord from the monitor to the video card. It would really be best to eventually get a DVI cable since it would be much better quality.

You should be able to use the adapter but why not buy a DVI cable:
