One method is to rock the car. Put it in reverse and hit the gas, if the car goes back a little, quickly put it in drive and give it some gas. The car should rock forward a little. When it stops going forward, quickly put it in reverse and hit the gas. the idea is to get the car rocking back and forth. Hopefully, you can build up enough forward momentum to pull yourself out of the mud.

Another way is to put something under the wheels to help grab some traction and get the car going enough to get you out. Rocks, lumber, sand, whatever you can find to help lift the car up a little and get you out.

Be careful not to dig too deep a rut, or you'll bury the car to the frame or at least bottom-out the car. Then you'll have to jack it up and put something under the wheels to have a chance.

If all else fails, then it is time to call a wrecker. good luck.

put some wooden blocks wedged under the tires... if its a rear wheel drive put them in the back... visa versa for front wheel drive... or you can have someone push or rock the car while your accelerating.
good luck
