I am probably the only person who thinks the best Spike Lee movie is "School Daze". I found it so original and creative. I can't understand why more people don't see the brilliance in it. I can think of dozens of films that copy this movie in both style and content.

"Son of Sam" is an excellent choice...very under-rated.
My favorite is "Do the Right Thing," which I think is one of the greatest films ever made. "Malcolm X" would be a close second. I just rewatched "Mo Better Blues" a couple weeks ago and it holds up pretty well too.

Malcolm X - The scene where Malcolm X is walking down the street and the depiction of the decline of the neighborhood is as intense as anything captured on film. Perhaps Denzel Washington's greatest acting.
