Frist thing to try is to actually remove the programs if you don't use them from the add/remove control panel.

Second thing to try is go into the preferences of the program and tell it not to start up with windows are turn off its Tray Program if it lets you.

Third thing to try is you can run msconfig and edit the startup list to your desire.

Hi. Just for the session? Use 'task manager'. For a longer period of time use 'msgonfig'.
