why dont you just buy an external hard drive & transfer all the contents from your old PC to the external HD

Depending on the amount of data that you need to transfer, you can use a "Thumb Drive". Or if you have allot of data to move you could remove the hard drive from your old machine and install it in your new machine. To do this, set the jumper on the new hard drive to Master and to slave on the old hard drive. Attach the old drive to the center tap on the same cable that the new drive is attached to. Start your system. The new drive should show with it's own drive letter. Now just drag the data from the old drive to the new one.

You can also try the Files Transfer Wizzard that comes along with the newer Windows OS's.

If it is just the hard drives I don't know but if they are in the computers you have to buy a transfer cable. You can get one right at Wal-Mart. Here is the link. http://www.walmart.com/search/search-ng.do?search_constraint=0&search_query=transfer+cable&ic=24_0

You need a zip drive to tranfer from 98 to zip then zip to xp.
