Yes, and that means anyone on this site. People in America are so stupid. I told my brother the other day, "out of the ten people you pass on the side walk, you are smarter than ten of them" and it is so damn true,,, why are most americans (especially people from California, New York, the South) so stupid,, this is why

1. Your stupid compulsion to buy things you don't need and bury yourself in debt
2. Following anything television tells you , what to buy, wear, say, etc
3. Taking such an interest in a sporting team,, like it matters who wins a game, big deal, you are not on the team
4. No education, everyone in this country should have a master's degree with the education availible to them --i have 2
5. No excercise---I live in Minnesota,, a lot of fat people here, go out and jog---stop making me pay for your healthcare
6. Bad life choices smoking, drugs, etc.
7. Majority of people are about as deep as a frisbee, and care only about shallow things

I agree with you but i am American...People take such a great interest in the sports because they played that sport when they were younger and never made it to a proffessional level and that their way of participating in the sport by watching and cheering on their team. It's not their fault that they don't have master degrees trust me if you asked any of tohse to people on the sidewalk if they would like two master degrees they wil say yes. Its a matter of money not stupid ness they can't afford to go to college you will be surprised at how many people dont smoke and do drigs their are people out their that stay clean you can't generalize a whole country off the bad habits of a few. You say all this but don't abviously you dont notice any of the good people that came out of America. You can't judge a natio n ont he actions of a few

Way to generalize the entire country based off of gangs, rednecks, etc..
1 - That's called inexperienced youth. So far, I'm not in debt, but whatever.
2 - TV tells me to buy things? I guess I must not be paying attention to the commercials.
3 - Because they *used* to play it when they were young, but couldn't make it into the big leagues; that's the only way they feel they're still a part of the game. And not everyone likes sports. I personally rather compete in martial arts tournaments than waste my time watching a football game that I don't understand.
4 - I'm sorry, what? Education and intelligence are a bit different. I'm an eighth grader, and I think that I'm more intelligent than you. Why? Because you're a narrow-minded snob who obviously has not had to deal with many problems. You do realize that not everyone has education "" to them, right? Not everyone can afford college.
5 - I don't need to exercise, because I have a healthy diet and a high metabolism. I still do it, to keep in shape though. Not every single person is fat. Hell, where I am, only 1/10 people are fat that I see every day.
6 - That is once again, *not* everyone. In fact, that is a small minority of people, who did not know what the *right* thing to do was.
7 - No. That would be *you*. Most people that *I* know are not "as deep as a frisbee", or "care only about shallow things". You seriously need to get help, you arrogant snob. And also, learn how to use proper grammar.

So you examined every person in America in all fifty states? First of all every single aspect you just mentioned is found globally. America is not the only country with people who smoke. America, being the only country interested in sports? You have probably never watched a World Cup series in your life and see the pride coming from other countries. How is liking a sport mean you're stupid? Obesity is not ONLY caused by eating too much. Some people have thyroid problems and your money is not paying for that. Advertising, television, media, etc. is part of the reason why we're so rich. We go out globally. People buy our products and watch our shows. It's called capitalism. If we make money, why shouldn't we spend it? Having a degree doesn't mean you're smart. Not everyone can afford to go to college. Do you see any other country having everybody require a master's degree. America created google, youtube, and yahoo. So if we're so stupid, how are you posting whatever you just posted? If America was so stupid, you wouldn't have this big of a forum to post to.

1. I only go shopping like twice a year.
2. I don't do what television tells me because television is full of stereotypes and shallow fodder.
3. I hate sports, not that anyone who likes sports is bad for enjoying them. People all around the world loves sports.
4. No education? America has a 95% literacy rate and most people who have the money go to college.
5. Maybe you should go to the gym once in a while and see the people exercising. I exercise every single day. Obesity is a problem in America though, I agree with that.
6. I don't do any drugs and I probably never will.
7. Can't argue with that, but i must say that isn't just an Americna problem.

Overall, get over yourself. I'm American and I'm not stupid, most of my friends are american and they aren't stupid or shallow. Your the one shallow enough to generalize everyone in an entire country into this category. I mean heck yeah there are stupid people here, but they don't make up the entire population.

With an attitude like YOURS, I would be VERY surprised if you had any friends at all... Obviously you are just some little CHILD who hasn't gotten enough experience in life behind the belt. You SAY you have master's degrees (your #4) yet you write like a FOURTH GRADER!!!!! Oh and a LOT of people cannot AFFORD the $25000 - $150,000 that it costs to go to college, and not everyone is an "obvious Rhodes Scholar" as you are------ Oh and by the way---you say in your very first sentence that "people are so stupid.....yes, and that means anyone on this site".... however, YOU are on this site as well, so obviously you MUST be including yourself in your analogy ... Yes, people in this country buy complusively SOMETIMES---but not ALL people. No one that I ever met lets Television dictate what they buy, wear or say---except those under the age of 30...(I happen to be 56)...and SO what if we find a sports team interesting or exciting---yes it's a game, but it's also an escape from some of the more difficult parts of life that someone like you cannot fathom yet because you have NO EXPERIENCE... Ok, you can have #5---I have to agree with you on that---...people SHOULD be getting more exercise, eating less JUNK---but I bet YOU never turned down a hot fudge Sundae or a big piece of cake in YOUR life time.... #6---ok you got that one too, but a GOOD portion of the population who does the smoking and the drinking and the drugs are people YOUR AGE and under.... I can't totally agree with your #7 either----it takes maturity, age and wisdom to become "deep" as you say---Only the teenagers and kids in their early 20's are "frisbee" like and shallow...hey, that's NORMAL.... but as you mature, you reallize what is important in life (MOST OF US DO ANYWAYS).... every person on EARTH goes through changes throughout life, hopefully they mature and become MUCH wiser individuals then they were as children----I hope when YOUR day comes ----if and when YOU become wiser, you will have a MUCH easier time at live then any of your predecessors.

There's a big difference between intelligence and education. I know a lot of people way more intelligent than you who only have 6th grade educations. It is the height of stupidity to generalize. My grandfather always said that he could find something interesting about anyone he met and I never saw him hesitate to strike up conversation with strangers anywhere he went. He had more friends than anyone else I've ever known and was the wisest person I've ever known - and I've worked for rocket scientists, buddy... You need to use your two masters degrees to figure out why you are such a narrow-minded angry person and do something positive to correct that situation.

You can believe whatever you want, that is the beauty of living in America.

But before you lump everyone into the "stupid" category, you should stop to consider the fact that all people are different. I would love to get a PhD. But I have to eat and feed my family. My four years of college is nothing to sneeze at, and I am grateful that I have been able to pay off my student loans early. I am saving as much as I can for my children to go to college. We do not live beyond our means, not rabid sports fans, and our TV plays PBS and the History Channel.

My children are not media bait and neither are we. I was raised to "use it up, make do, or go without".

It is ignorant as well as bigoted to assume that everyone in the USA is stupid, excepting yourself.

heyyohollywoodhogan, how are you?

I don't agree that every American in those regions you listed is such a lemming. There are Americans who realize their responsibilities and what is truly important in life. Start talking to people in libraries or churches or other religious institutions and you'll meet some very deep, down-to-earth people.

Since you are educated and it concerns you, I think your best course of action would be to educate people. There are numerous volunteer activities in every state where you could offer great assistance to those who need help organizing their lives. I'm sure any organization would be happy to have your experience and knowledge.

So, with your two master's degrees, why are you spending time here?

I have no degree, though I do have a very good education. A degree is not a measure of education; only how much money you've paid for it. It's as possible for someone to know just as much as you without having spent perhaps $100,000 on school and loans. In fact, one of the best electrical engineers I know has no degree.

So get off your horse.

On another note, why not show me just how shallow I am. Why not show me how much smarter you are? Why not demonstrate your superiority?

With your two Master's degrees, I'm wondering what your theses looked like; did you do them yourself, or did you hire an editor. Obviously with the quality of English you demonstrate above, if you wrote them yourself, without the aid of an editor or proofreader, the school must have low standards to have accepted them.

So, consider the gauntlet tossed. Show us what you've got. I'm a nobody, and I still think I'm just as smart as you. If we're all stupid, please ... demonstrate. Put up or shut up.
