In my opinion I think that Giambi admitting steroid use is a good thing. He felt he needed to come clean and own up to his use of steroids. It is much harder to admit a mistake than keep telling people you didn't do it. I don't think he should have to rat out other players. If they want to question him as far as where he got it from or who he got it from that would help more than ratting out other players. As far as other players following suit I don't think that will happen

There's THOUSANDS of MLB players that have done steroids since 1985. The Commissioner and all owners, and every player knows this -- and every fan over 15 yrs old knows this, now. They punch-around Barry Bonds, Giambi and a few others -- WHILE SAMMY SOSA is allowed to merrily come back, for his 600th HOME RUN??? what the heck is that ALL about?
Until they take Kirby Puckett's Hall of Fame status away.. (ever notice how the Baseball Establishment calls him a Happy Boy Warrior etc. -- and ignores HIS HR TOTALS and how it jumped from 4hrs, 4hrs, to 31 HRS and his body from a slight, fast slap-hitting CF to a thick-armed, barrel-chested power-hitter? HELLO?). Until they take-away the stats & accolades of every PITCHER from Roger Clemens to Kevin Brown to Randy Myers to near anyone that played in the 80s, 90s right up to 2004.. then, this point is embarassingly simple.
Move on. Name this the Steroid Era once and for all -- get Bud Selig to resign, and stop the silliness with his buddy old retired judge Mitchell... going on a 2-year all-expenses paid media-nonsense tour of doing NOTHING.

There is nothing good about steroids no matter what Giambi intends to do. His career is at stake and he will look after his own interest. It shouldn't be just MLB, the players need to step up and put an end to this mess.

Giambi hasn't admitted, shown, or known something particular in public yet. probable in no way will. yet whilst he's prepared to undergo a public flogging, a week interior the stockade in situations sq. (with out 24/7 coverage on Fox, ESPN, or the different community), and a ninety 9.9% forfeiture of private wealth (in return for which he gets a unfastened sackcloth and a few ashes), then I say enable him decide for it. Oh, and no e book/multimedia deal later on. He can not purchase innocence yet he pays (extremely) for alleviation from his guilt. besides, donning the yank pinstripes, particularly of those provided via Attica, is punishment sufficient.

no no and no.
if we are going to be doing that. then people better bring up the fact that babe ruth WAS CAUGHT MORE THAN ONCE using a corked bat..and that THE RULES NOT TO ALLOW CORKED BATS..was a direct result of ruth being caught..so how many of his hr's were from corked bats? probably the majority.and it makes sense when you see that swing now doesn't it?
hell george sisler was CAUGHT nailing NAILS into his bat.
and people get on sammy sosa's case? i wonder if they knew this fact about ruth that they'd change their minds.

its always best to tell the truth. he shouldnt have used them then would be no problem. if he wants to keep other players respect he should drop any names. if you used them just admit it!
