I heard that there are certain designers, Coach in particular that make fake bags of less quality to sell on the knock-off market since its so profitable.

No, they are not doing that. I challenge you to find a legitimate article from a reliable source that says they are following that practice.

The concept of making a knock off to increase profits is absurd. The "hidden expense" with that practice is the negative impact it has on "brand value" and "goodwill", which, at the end of the day, when valuing a business, are valid, and often substantial, assets of any enterprise.
