Children (especially girls) at this age are really trying to be much more independant from their parents, and they are less willing to do what you say. (this will start to change in about 2 or 3 years). I don't believe it has a lot to do with how she was raised up until now. However, it's important to tell her that you love her to make her feel like she can come and talk to you. Also, if she doesnt listen to what you are telling her to do. Maybe try giving her a little a deadline. LIke, if you tell her to clean her room, maybe tell her that in the morning and say that before dinner she needs to clean her room, or that she can't go to a friend's house or watch tv until she has finished her homework. Stuff like that. Also, start talking to her about things going on at your work or something like that, so she feels more comfortable talking about her life with you. Also, i know this sounds weird, but make sure that most nights, the family has dinner together. Again, i know this sounds wierd, but its proven to help families connect better. I wouldnt worry too much about your younger daughters catching onto this. I know that there is a high chance that they might, but you have to make it seem like it is a bad way to be acting. But, without yelling or talking bad about your other daughter.
