Half his brain seems shot away, yet he lives like a king & is treated like a god...
Baffles me...

hhmm, a hard life you say?
I would hardly deem years of alcohol & drug abuse a hard life...
That surely is self-inflicted....
I wonder if he's ever slept on the streets, without food & water...
I doubt it...

I've not a clue, mate. The man is a moron whom I can't stand to watch for more than a few seconds. Why are not scientists, writers, activists, statesmen etc. admired? They are people who have created and achieved something.

Instead, Ozzy, Diana, Bono, Paris Hilton and the like are worshipped.

Because he is unique!

People like Ozzy Osbourne, Marilyn Manson, and Rob Zombie live like kings because they do what they want to do when they want to do it! They aren't dictated by other peoples lives....they are their own person, and people admire that.

Even if you don't like it, it's one of those things where, EVERYONE knows Ozzy or Marilyn or Zombie. They do things that other people won't do and they get recognized for it. They do things that stick in your mind.

In my opinion they deserve their status as Gods of Rock.

Ever heard of Black Sabbath? He's definitely a rock god. And yes, half of his brain is shot away. That's what happens when you do so many drugs all the time. But, I see him every year at Ozzfest, and he doesn't sing like he talks. He never misses a word.

Iconism (is that a word?) is nothing to do with humanity, let alone intelligence. It's about recognition - recognisability - in a world of teeming images; and secondarily - a long way secondarily - about representation: what your image means to people.

I like Ozzy. Always have. He's a rock and roll icon - he deserves that one.
I hardly see him as god though, and don't think anyone else does either.
