of course you can access the internet through IE as long as u have internet (in ur case a wireless router). I would recommend downloading Firefox. It is much faster, reliable, and secure.

Hello,

Ok, internet explorer will work with ANY internet connection. This is simply the program you use to take advantage of your internet connection. So... yes!

Now, when you go buy your wireless router your still not going to have any internet because your going to need a DSL or Cable internet connection. Routers will not work on a dial-up 56k connection.

Once you get your router hooked up to either your DSL or cable modem, you wireless laptop will be able to access the signal sent from your router.

But your really going to need to pay for an internet connection.

See the tutorial below from linksys. This should answer your basic questions.

You need an Internet Service, a wireless router by itself won't connect to the Internet.

The wireless router connects (via a wire) to the service provider network (i.e. a cable modem or dsl modem).

Inside your home, the connection is wireless.
