Good question, TMan, and my answer would be, it's hard to say. From a man's perspective: I understand that some Mormon men live with multiple female partners (only married to one though), but their culture is such that the women take care of the children and alternate sleeping with the man. There exists this selfless understanding between the females.

But you throw that dynamic into general society, and women would understandably react to the situation differently, and stability would be elusive!

The fact is, our society has been programmed to believe polygamy to be bad, so trying to have multiple spouses now would be difficult for most to comprehend as "ok". I think the government passed the anti-bigamy law to protect victims of bigamists, but not necessarily because they felt multiple spouses were wrong. It's still practiced in the United States through legal divorce (marrying many wives, divorcing them, and keeping one "legal" wife). Also in a few other countries as well.

But back to your question -- if I could find two or more women who would be okay with the setup, I wouldn't necessarily be against the idea!

No, I had a hard enough time with keeping the one I had. Early on it was good mind you, and she blessed me with three children through our time together, but it just got too hard for her to cope with all the stress of raising three "special needs" boys and her own illness. She gave up and looked elsewhere.

Now imagine having two or even three spouses -- that's like compound interest --> 9 kids & 3 women to care for -- No Thanks!

**God intended us to have only one, so I think I'll stick with the game plan he intended and then deal with whatever earthly problems may arise. I'd rather have his help on this than deal with what may happen if I don't follow the rules!

Great question - gave you a star!!!

No, one can be enough of a pain in the butt to try and keep happy I can't imagine two? I would have time for anything else, I don't know how anyone has a close personal relationship with more than one lover/husband/wife...I think of all the upkeep I do everyday and just thinking about it exhausts me.

Considering that it might mean having more than one mother-in-law, I'd have to say I'll stick with just one spouse.

Heck no. One is enough. You must not be married :-P Not that it is not a beautiful thing, it is, but I tend to think as the proverb says, No man is rich enough to have more than 1 wife.

Oh, you bet your life I would!
I am married to a wonderful honey of a guy, I wouldn't trade him for anything. I have friend, whose nature speaks to the other side of me.

I could have my cake, my frosting, and eat it all....
