Well it really depends on what kind of food it is and also who cooked and prepared the food!!!!! If it's someone that I know and trust like 8 seconds If I don't like the food then I'm not going to eat it eventually I will eat the nasty food but only if there's nothing else!!! And also if I don't know the person who cooked it I'm wraping it up inside of a napkin and disposing of that food or I'm just going to refuse to eat it!! But other then that the overall time would be just 8 seconds or so!!!

I don't usually stare at it. But, before I go to eat, I make sure the entire plate of food has been properly warmed. That usually creates the best eating experiene.
