You're going to be hearing about a new study that's due to come out later this week. The study is from some liberal think tank called the Center for American Progress. The report is going to cite a "massive imbalance" between conservative and "progressive" (that would be liberal) talk radio. As you might have guessed, this report will contain some proposals for solutions ... and I'm guessing we're in for another push for the resurrection of the idiotically-named "Fairness Doctrine." Libs won't listen to talk radio because they don't want to take "Instruction" BUT they have no problem taking instructions from George Soros and his Lackies..

How long can you listen to the various versions of the "we hate Bush and all other evil conservatives" theme that these talk shows have? That is why they fail. If you took the hatred out of them, they would be nothing but dead air time.
Aside to "bush's_iq_is_91_times_ what_mine_is" or whatever:
HA HA HA! You are so funny! You dont want to be brainwashed so you watch the Discovery Channel? The only thing you will discover there is what the doomsday exploiters like Algore and pals want you to discover! I suspect you may be immune to brainwashing anyway, there seems to be nothing to wash in your case.

When I listen to radio, I'm looking for music. Jon Stewart, Colbert, Oprah, Real Time with Bill Maher, all very successful shows and there are more, but then you knew that already. It seems to me that liberals don't have that need for "talking points" that conservatives get fromFaux News and people like Rush. You could listen to Rush's show, and then get on YA and bet your paycheck that his talking points for the day are reflected in the questions and answers. I prefer not to be a lemming, thinking for myself has been working great so far.

1. They can't listen to the radio at work.
2. They like to form their own opinions.
3. They READ.
4. They get their info from many sources.
5. They can't hear the same thing over and over and over again like Rush/Fox news listeners.
6. They are interested in what is going on in the world, not interested in character assination that has nothing to do with real news.

The truth is not like sensationalistic lies and that means the liberal leaning shows are boreing. It is much more fun to watch/listen and yell at the stupid comments of the idiots on the right. They are more entertaining as fiction should be.

Actually, quality liberal radio programming, such as on NPR, is very successful. Talk radio doesn't work for Liberals as much as it does for Conservatives because Liberals are too sophisticated to sit there entranced to every opinion and talking point that some blowhard idiot has to spoon feed them for 3 hours. We like to think for ourselves and get a variety of opinions.
Air America wanted to be a right-wing clone. I couldn't stand it because, like I said, I'm looking for info and nuance not a constant stream of hate and mind-control.

Yes, The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are doing ok, I guess libs consider these comedy shows to be genuine 'news' programs. Liberal talk shows fail because all they do is spew hate filled messages with no logic or facts. Air America would be nothing but a memory without the welfare money it gets from a few left wing nuts. NPR would not survive without assistance either. The reason is that they present no ideas, no value. Whining without offering an alternative is just whining, like listening to a baby cry.

Liberals can think on their own unlike all those right-wing nut jobs. We do not need help from talk radio to form a constructive argument.

NPR has already upped their number of conservative viewpoints...did you know about NPR, and the 'liberal talk shows' they have had on for years and years? "Fresh Air', 'Diane Reim Show", 'All things COnsidered', etc...I wonder why cons have such a hard time with allowing other viewpoints? COuld it be because they might suffer the same demise as other shows that already allow others' viewpoints?

I have never listened to a Liberal talk show. So I can't contest their content. But I can say that they aren't aired in my area - South Georgia. Maybe that is the problem, not enough affiliates. Do you have to have satellite radio to hear them??
