I've been all over the world.....but my favorite vacation was a trip only two hours away to Chattanooga. What made it so special was the reaction of my children. It's amazing how sometimes the simplest vacation can be the best. It was spring break about four years ago I think (or three... I'm losing my memory lol) and all of their friends were going somewhere and we had no plans at all. Finally, I decided I could afford a two day weekend. So we drove down to Chattanooga and stayed at the Choo Choo. We actually stayed in one of the old train cars. The kids were beside themselves. Here we were staying at an old train station in a train car and they thought mom was just the coolest. lol Well we took a shuttle down to the water front and visited a discover museum, the Aquarium, and an IMax theater. They loved all of that....... but the best was...... an old fashioned candy store. The kids loved picking their own candy, weighing it and buying it. lol Ohhhh the simple things. We then went to Rock City and Ruby falls..... and road the incline railroad. It was two very full days with two little girls with non-stop smiles!! THAT alone is what made it my favorite vacation I've taken. :)

It was in Tennessee. I have never really been a beach person, but I LOVE the mountains! My hubby and I rented a cabin on Bear Mountain and stayed for a week. We had a fabulous wrap around porch with an incredible view! The front of the porch jutted out a bit and there was a 4 person hot tub that overlooked the most fantastic view! Sitting in the hot tub when the rain is pouring down on your face is so romantic! I recommend that everyone take a mountain vacation some point in their life!! :)
