The Pistons are better because Shaq is aging and slowing. The Heat will need to make some kind of move to rebuild around Wade and remain competitive as a top force in the East. As of now, the Heat are the better team, but this could change if the Pistons lose Billups, Sheed, and/or Webber.

When Shaq is healthy the Pistons can have a hard time guarding him. Otherwise, Billups and Wade are two of the best perimeter defenders in the league. By shutting down Wade you can shut down the heat. The pistons can get scoring from Billups, Hamilton, Wallace or Prince.
Pistons are a better team.

The playoffs tell the story: Pistons went to the conference finals. The Heat did not. Gotta go with the Pistons. Doesn't matter much, though. The Spurs are better than both of them.

Currently, I think the Pistons are better because they got to the eastern conference finals, while the Heat got swept in the first round of the playoffs. But next year the Pistons will probably get rid of Rasheed, and maybe Chauncy, and then the Heat will be way better if Wade and Shaq are healthy.

Last year, the Pistons were no question.
Next year, it depends on a lot of things: Whether Wade's healthy, whether Shaq's healthy, whether Billups resigns, whether Rasheed gets traded, whether Webber retires, and who both teams sign/lose in the free agent market. So it's really up in the air right now.
But my prediction is Miami will be a bit better next year because they have the superstar, Dwyane Wade.

Miami Heat no Question they have Dwyane Wade, Shaq, Haslem, Jones and a lot of good veterans. They had a off year because Shaq and Wade only played about 10 to 15 games together

When Healthy (thats the key thing), Obviously the Heat. IF D Wayde is the same as he used to be next year. Alot of Ifs for Heat to be better...Detroit is consistant. VERY Consistant...They always get so far in the playoffs, that it is annoying....But, when healthy, and in top condition, the Heat are the better team.

i lyk both teams, but i have to say the pistons all the way. i am a miami fan of course wit me reppin the south n everything, but the pistons a are a better team.

well miami is better when they are healthy but this year they were not so the pistons were the better team but i still think that miami is better because they have wade and shaq
