Did you ask your employer for an advance, or did you go to one of those agencies that paid ahead from your paycheck.

And, what was the reason you needed the money in a hurry?

having a survival need is legitimate; borrowing from a boss puts you in bad light; borrowing from a paycheck agency is high interest most people have a tough time paying back. Seems there is no good answer if you're in a tight squeeze. Kudos to those who did pay it back and timely.

Yes I have, I've borrowed 300 dollars from my work and they were really nice about me paying it back. They took like 25 dollars a week out of my check til I paid it all off. I borrowed it because I was low on money and couldn't get my kids much for christmas without it.

Luckily, I've never had to do that. But at the begininng of next month, I may have to ask my mom to help me pay for some prescription medication. My health insurance will not kick in until August 1.

No.
I have habitually lived from paycheck-to-paycheck, sometimes going broke in between, but I have never borrowed off in advance.
