My boyfriend is looking for colored transparency overlay paper but we have had no luck in finding any. We've tried A.C. Moore (art store) and I've tried searching on ebay and the WWW. Could it possibly be called something else and does anyone know what it may be called or where we might find some? He says it's basically like the overlays they use in school except it's colored. Thanks in advance for all thoughts and suggestions!

What do you mean "push it through the old school photo process?" You are so unclear on the concepts it is rather hard to know where to begin. If you have access to a color darkroom and color paper processor you can print color negatives onto a type of transparency - it is essentially clear paper. It is called Duraflex, and I honestly don't know if it is made anymore. It was expensive back in the day, probably very expensive now. If you want to copy your negatives onto reversal (transparency) film, you can do that with a slide copier, but as Chris points out, you will lose quality very quickly and a negative onto a positive gives you a slide of your negative, only softer with more contrast. Not an improvement, really. Then how are you going to print this? For color negatives, you need a color enlarger and color paper. Have you any idea how to print color? It doesn't work like black and white. You correct the color using the cyan, magenta and yellow filters that are built into the enlarger head. You then feed the paper through a special processor or develop it in tubes. Trust me, the processor is your best bet. I think you should rethink this "experiment" until you have a modicum of an idea of what you might actually be doing.
