My boyfriend has a opportunity to move up in his job to do exactly what hes been wanting to do, but he would be replacing two peoples jobs, one being his friend...what would you do?

How close is he to the friend? I couldn't get myself to do that. If I were making a decent salary that allows me to live comfortable I wouldn't jeopardize my friend losing his job.

I'd accept the job but I'd do some homework first
I'd find out what the company's long term goals for my department were - if they downsized this department so drastically - what were their future plans.
I'd find out why the friend would lose his job rather than getting transferred to another department or branch.it could be he wasn't productive/didn't fit in/whatever.
Then I'd negotiate for the best package I could - and make sure my lawyer looked over the paperwork etc. before I accepted the job.
