3. Tabbed browsing is much better with firefox
4. Add-ons are much easier to manage
5. If firefox suddenly closes, you can restore the last session if you open firefox back up
6. It has a much simpler desgin, easy to use
7. It has a built in, spelling checker
8. When you try to "x" out of firefox, you don't have to see the warning window when you close two or more tabs

Ok, if it is pre-installed on Windows and Firefox is just a 3-minute download away, then why? Also, you know where IE messes-up and you get that "Send Error Report" question, if you had firefox, you won't be prone to an error compared to IE.

Ok, if downloading Firefox takes extra time and effort, why don't downloaded it and while doing so, multi-task. Check your e-mail while downloading Firefox. WOW! Not that hard people..........

1) It's not slow I use it and every page comes up as fast as I click on it.
2) Never recieved a single virus, if you're stupid enough to go to a site to get viruses/spyware/adware then you don't need to be on the internet using ANY browser.
3) Tabbed browsing is tabbed browsing. You open one, close another. It's all the same.
4) Add-Ons is where security becomes an issue. Besides, IE comes with enough stuff pre-bundled that you don't need to waste time hunting down more features.
5) IE doesn't suddenly close, there was no need to accomidate for that... If firefox keeps suddenly closing on you, maybe you should switch to IE?
6) IE is not hard to use at all. You just sit down and browse. Anything I've ever wanted, I've found quickly and easily.
7) Why would I need to spell check somebody else's page? I can't do anything about it. That just doesn't make sense.
8) You can turn off that setting so it won't warn you. In fact, that's a feature firefox is missing, in case you forget that you had certain tabs you can decide to cancel.
9) IE won't let a lot of tabs slow down performance. I constantly have about 9 times open and I've never noticed a slow down.
10) Windows can remember the passwords for you and personally I don't want it to be that easy for somebody to walk up to my computer and have the computer give them all my passwords.
Your information is lacking facts. Your inexperience has led you to be arrogant and stubborn in your effort to learn. I don't post this expecting to get best answer because you have such a bad case of tunnel vision that you won't consider the possibility that IE and firefox are on even grounds. Take the time to research before placing such a question.

Mostly because anything other than apples computer has Internet Explorer when you buy it. If you want something llike firefox. You have to download it. Some people might never ever heard of firefox. So far Internet Explorer happens to be the most known internet surfer in the US. My opinion.

habit and afraid of change. plus they have been told that IE is needed to do different downloads and to allow update to function. because of active X, a lot of prgms and installs will not function properly if at all.
