My boss is one of those who sits and does nothing all day but shouts his mouth off because we don't do enough (typical).

Today one of the new guys screwed up and was getting shouted at in front of the other workers which i thought was wrong,so i stood up for the new guy and my boss flipped and started pointing and shouting at me,well my fuse is not too long and i ended up knocking him out.

I just walked out without saying anything but have since been arrested and bailed to return,i have had about 6 calls from my co workers who all say my boss was in the wrong and if it goes to court they will stand by me.

What do you think of my chances of not getting a criminal record ?

Wow, I'm impressed.
I wish I had the guts to knock the block off my boss.
I hope you don't get a criminal record.

You need a good lawyer.

There are several witnesses to say you physically attacked your boss.

Rightly or wrongly the law says ya cannot do it!!

I am afraid you gonna get a criminal record unless he drops the charges.

You need to chill out dude, use your brain first, your fists last.

Probably not very good. Your boss may have been yelling and pointing at you, but he didn't touch you. You committed a criminal offense when you put your hands on him. Physical violence is never an option unless you are in peril of bodily injury or death.

i think that you should have put this question in the law enforcement category. but, i think that it would depend on if your boss presses charges. but, since you have other people that can be a witness for you then you may not be in too much trouble. it may also depend on the prosecutor and what he decides to do. at any rate good luck and i hope it all works out for you.

you might get something like assault but if you have witnesses (your co workers) that are with you then you might be ok, but chances are you will get something. man that sucks. or you might have to go to anger management or something. who knows this guy (boss) sounds like a really d- bag. good luck man. . . oh you should prolly start looking for a new job now. ;)

I WAS IN SOMETHING SIMILAR TO THIS. NOW I AM FROM NEW JERSEY SO LAWS ARE DIFFERENT EVERYWHERE. BUT I DID GET A HEFTY FINE BECAUSE MY CO WORKER DIDNT RAISE A HAND TO ME, SO SELF DEFENSE AGAINST VERBAL ATTACK DIDNT STAND UP IN COURT.

whether your boss was wrong or not, you assaulted him... you might win in a civil case for work related stuff... not in criminal court if he presses charges for the assault though... you will have a fighting chance if he provoked you...

What a fool you are how can you try to justify criminal behaviour with that stupid story.
I hope they throw the book at you, you are a loser.

very slim, but it's worth a shot. assult is assult. if you are going to get charged, ask for a sentence that will disappear after your sentence, i forget what it's called.
