Straight to the bus via a kilometric ticket queue unless you've booked ahead. Make sure you don't mash the locals with your rucksack on the bus or the tube beforehand.

If you're talking about Eurolines from Victoria Coach Station, you do have to check in with ticket and passport, plus any visa, which is YOUR responsibility.
That done, you take your baggage to the coach where either the driver or you yourself will load it. At that point, nothing is scanned.
Once you get to Dover (other ports may be different), Customs staff will remove 6 cases at random. They will be scanned. Their owners will have to leave the coach and themselves be scanned, as at an airport. All being well, the driver will then re-load the scanned baggage, and everybody moves on.
I have to say that such was the procedure when last I took Eurolines in January of this year, so things may have changed. But I'd think that the general procedure was much the same.

no its not the same, you put your bags on the coach, any scans etc are done at the borders, they off load the coach & you get scanned & passport etc. any major problems with you or your luggage, then you stay at the border & the coach goes without you
