You must be talking about abortion, because if you take out the factor of the other life that the state is protecting, then a woman has as much a right as anyone else to defile or mutilate or do whatever to her body. As for abortion, I don't think we'lll ever have a consensus across America, but it all comes down to when does life begin.

As far as corporations, I guess you'd have to expound a little more, but I certainly don't think they run or make decisions for our nation. We are fortunate to live in a capatilistic society where there is free market and the opportunity to be successful on many fronts, including business. These opportunities exist for every American.

It is all about power differentials. Look at the growing gap between rich and poor and you will find your answer. Limits on reproductive rights apply only to the poor. The rich always have other options. As for political power... the is little doubt that the corporation is the single most powerful institution in the US, politically and economically.
There are a few people here who have made some pretty disingenuous comments: Which corporation? There are a handful, but their interests are a mandate for every US president since Gilded Age.
As for abortion... morally, who is responsible for the life a fetus? yea, the mom. Pragmatically, who can make the best decision as to whether a mother should have child and raise it? That would be the mother...
Get your goddam government out of our bodies, out of foreign countries and into the hospitals and schools. Educating and Saving lives is the task of the government, not stealing oil from foreigners.

I do not know how big corporations are making decisions for the entire country without the consent of consumers. If people really did not like what big business was doing, they would not buy their products. Most Americans could care less about what big business is doing as long as they can engage in their consumerism as they see fit.

Yes, women still have a say over their body unless the Supreme Court just overturned Roe v. Wade.

If she wants to pierce something, tattoo something, have something lifted, tucked, or botox'd, etc...more power to her...when it involves the life of another it's a different story.
Big business can make decisions for the entire nation only as long as we allow them too...at some point they have to answer for the positives and negatives of their industry.

If I choose to take MY arm and stab someone to death, it was my right to do so,it is after all MY arm, it is also my right to be wrong and suffer the consequences, be they legal or otherwise. to have the right to do something does not automatically make it right to do it.

Roe v. Wade is still standing.

But yes, how come corporations decide what is good for America, and not the American people?

Do you have any idea how many of the women today are bi-polar and are half way to crazy? My ex wife was one of them. She tried killing herself a few times over it and would get mad when someone suggested she see a doctor.

Companies are run by many many people not just one or two and many can access the situation better than a single one can cause they see all sides of it.

Because, at least at some stage of pregnancy, there is another human living inside the woman.

Before that point, a woman should be allowed an abortion. After that point, it should only be allowed in the most extreme situations.

Unless Roe vs. Wade was overturned last night, a woman can still make decisions about her own body.
