Electricity is an important part of our lives. Each day we use electricity in a countless number of ways without giving it much thought.
We use electricity to:
Light our houses at night
Cook our food
Watch our TV's
Run our computers
Play our video games
Listen to our stereos
Run our furnaces during the winter
Run our air conditioners during the summer
And the list goes on. Can you think of any more ways in which you use electricity?
Without electricity we would not be able to do any of these things and we would look at life a lot differently so electricity is one of the most significant discoveries in history.

Come to the southeast and ride out a hurricane with us, then wait for the power to go out. Then you'll find out firsthand what the significance of electricity is! Perhaps the most important is refrigeration and mass communication (radios, tv, internet).

Virtually everything associated with modern living is dependent on electricity in some way. Without electricity we couldn't live in large cities because the water and sewage couldn't be moved around and food couldn't be delivered in sufficient quantities before it went bad.

My grandmother.. who came to this country... as a 13-year old... and died over 20-years ago....
USED TO SAY...... "MAKE THE LIGHT" .... when she wanted the ELECTRIC LIGHT... turned ON!
I as a child.. explained to her.... Bobbie [Americanized Word for the Polish Term = GRANDMOTHER] don't you mean... TURN ON THE LIGHT!
She responded.... You Never had it so GOOD!
What she meant... now as an adult can reason.... IS THAT... Before ... ELECTRICITY.... We had to Light a Candle.... FOR LIGHT!
Try camping out... WITHOUT A FLASHLIGHT... AND MATCHES.... and you will.....KNOW JUST HOW GOOD.... Electricity.... IS!
