In america there is the one drop rule, but in South Africa they have the pencil test. If your hair is thick enough to hold a pencil than you are Black.

Believe it or not, MY hair can hold a pencil. Albeit not all day.
Wonder what that means. LOL

Well that's a stupid rule. But I've seen older pics of Barack Obama and he had an afro so I guess he would pass the test. As far as Tiger woods he has thick curly hair but he always wears it short.

That is the stupidest law I ever heard of. I've tried it and the pencil has fallen out. I'm defiantly not white. And we did the pencil test in class as an expirement and some white people had the pencil stay in.

From The black and white races began intermingling, forced and otherwise, the resulting offspring have always been classified as black. The percentage system would determine the levels of black blood in you and give a name accordingly. You may have enjoyed certain greater privileges because of your white blood like becoming a house slave vs. being a field labourer but you were still a slave and never equal to the white man even if you had had "white skin" and brown or green eyes. If you were white enough you could "pass" from being a black to being white... so long as no-one discovered who you really were. More white blood = better. More black blood = worse. The very notion that the only way you could "pass" into accepatable society is by becoming white is offensive and I don't see why you would want someone to pass this test. Is Obama better or worse for his black blood or his white blood? I'm pretty sure he got everything he has through hard work and merit not any systems of favor because of his mixed race.
Now, the real question is why do we continue to perpetuate this system of segregation on ourselves when we were freed from the planations so long ago? Tell me, why would a black person want to use the white peoples system of denigration to denigrate his own kind? Don't be like those slaves who upon receiving their freedom turned right back around and went back to work for the white master. Bob Marley says "emancipate yourselves from mental slavery, none but oureslves can free our minds". We got the emancipation papers long ago but we are still shackled mentally.
I don't care how black Obama, Tiger, Condeleeza, Powell or any any other people are. I only care about what they bring to humanity. They are humans like the whites, chinese, japanese, arabs, syrians, indians etc. Until we can see ourselves as just a part of humanity and not just "black", "half-black", "mixed" etc. we will always be BLACK to those who seek deliberately or inadvertently to hold us down. We don't see white people applying tests of whiteness on their kind do we?

personally i see no reason why not put Barack in office (sorry his name reminds me of a guy i used to play in mortal kombat) it's not like the muppet you have in currently is doing such a wonderful job but i'm a canadian. as for the pencil test i could care less

Tiger Woods is not black..he doesn't want to be so he is not...by the way, my father is half black and half filipino and thinks of himself as black and I work with a girl whois half black and half Thai and also is black.. Tiger is just a sell out

I know that I am Black, and I wouldn't pass the pencil test. We all have different hair types. Mine is naturally wavy, and I am Black and proud. I must add preach on "Island Girl"!!!!!!!!!

more proof that race issues are asinine to the core. I know some Hasidic Jews who could hold pencils in their curls - so I suppose I could deduce that they were black.

where do you get your information from, some of your question are interesting.
get me a sample of their hair so i can give you a more accurate answer and no an hypothesis
my guess would be yes, if their hair is wet
