I mean there used to be a time when Osama Bin Laden/Mullah Omar/Zawahiri was Al Qaeda. They were the ones responsible for Sept. 11 and none of them were even in Iraq in their entire lifetimes. Certainly Moqtada Al Sadrs militants which number in the 10's of thousands cant be considered Al Qaeda can they?

Why is the world being brainwashed?
This world is a joke

There is NO EVIDENCE of a connection of Osama/Mullah Omar with Saddam Hussein.
He was bottled up in Iraq and was held back by the embargos enforced on Iraq.
Yes he was a jerk that killed people but so has Karimov in uzbekistan, Sudans genocide leader, Niyazov in Turkmenistan(died a couple months back) and numerous others.
You dont see the US doing anything to help those people in those countries. The US is in Iraq for the oil.
We are not so stupid we cant figure that out.
But when they killed Saddam did the US Miltary stand down as they had promised? No.
The US military and its uneducated leader George Bush are liars to the world.
And as the amount of Iraqis leaving Iraq numbers close to 5 million and growing faster everyday Bush and his military complex looks worse and worse everyday.

The number of foreign fighters in Iraq equals about 15% of the total Sunni militants and Shiite militants.
A small amount.

They aren't. That fallacy seems to be common to the anti-Bush set who regularly insists that Iraq was not connected with terrorism because they weren't actively associated with Al Qaeda.

I have never heard Bush and the Military confuse Al Qaeda and other militant groups the way you say. The world is not being brainwashed you are only hearing what you want to hear.

Al Sadr is out for himself only and has purposely attacked both US Troops and non-militant Iraqi citizens. By attacking non-militant citizens he is a terrorist juts with different aims. As such he is still not on the side of US forces or US ideals. Al Qaeda is a very loose conglomeration/ worldwide network of people working toward certain warped philosophical goals However, if Al Sadr can get support for his aims from Al Qaeda he would clearly take it. And vice versa, Al Qaeda will work with him if it suits their goals. You need to check your facts on Al Qaeda, although Bin Laden and Omar never personally went to Iraq they sent other Al Qaeda reps to connect with Saddam to see if they could work together. Just like they didn't personally fly planes on 9/11. Both Saddam and Al Qaeda wanted to hurt the US and the West. Both are a danger to the US forces and western civilization regardless of what you call them, terrorist, Al Qaeda, enemies or just plain crazy a$$holes.

It is a fact that US forces have killed and captured foreign fighters in Iraq who have been connected to Al Qaeda and other terrorist orgs. Regardless of what you call them they all want to hurt the US, the west and modern civilization.

You should do a little more research before making incorrect statements about where individuals have and haven't been in their lifetimes, or even as recently at the last 10 years. And I am sure Mr Bush is aware of the difference between Al Qaeda, Hammas, Fatah, Hesbullah,ect.... Perhaps you are among the brainwashed and the joke is on you? Try alternative sources for your opinions other than repeating what you hear form the uninformed and accepting it as fact.

No, Al Sadr's militia is not aligned with Al Qaeda, to the best of my knowledge. In fact, I think they are ideologically opposed; they would never work together. I agree that the blanket "terrorist" label is a gross over simplification of the factions involved in the Middle East. Their dislike of America may be the only thing they have in common, but this is not enough to group them all as "the same thing".

I agree it's crazy, there are alsorts of factions fighting one another, and every day new ones seem to emerge, and our troop's are stuck right in the middle of the crazyness.
