While I tend to agree with the previous poster, I would like ot see a lot more diplomacy among nations to reduce the likelihood of war.
The scientific and technical knowledge to build nuclear weapons is well known, and is available to any rogue state that wants it. Peacemaking is a better strategy than trying to eleminate all nuclear weapons.

Don't really know...None of the countries will ever be honest about how many they have. It's all ironic though, it will only take 1 nuclear weapon for mass destruction. Don't understand the purpose of having so many.

Russia has a significantly larger inventory than the USA. This was true prior to Bush taking office, and is even more pronounced since Bush unilaterally made cuts to the American stockpile. Since then, Bush and Putin have signed agreements to cut both countries' stockpiles down by thousands of weapons.

Russia has more because they cannot guarantee that all the ones they fire will work.
To the bloke who said that even one is too many: True. But please don't think that unilateral disarmament is a sensible and safe option.
