I'm an American, but I sometimes get the chance to watch the BBC World News. I have heard some people claim that the BBC has a left-wing bias. In fact, the archconservative (and Tony Blair supporter) Rupert Murdoch once complained of this to Tony Blair. That being said, though, one should also remember the fact that Rupert Murdoch is also the owner of FOX, The Sun, and The Times, which all certainly have a right-wing bias. I want a British perspective, though. What do YOU think?

They've admitted it. Why do people keep asking if it's true? Would you ask if Al-Jazeera had an anti-American bias? The same people never question Fox's bias. You just have a "Beatles" and "Monty Python" fantasy image of the Brits. Some Americans are their own worst enemies assuming what nonAmericans say about our country is the truth.

I suppose it's fair to say the worldview of the BBC is vaguely left/liberal, but in that it merely reflects the worldview of the majority of its viewers. It's certainly not some kind of conduit for vanguardist or ultra-left opinions, despite what some of the more biased commentators would like you to think.
If Rupert Murdoch thinks it's too left-wing it must be doing something right!

Truthfully, we don't need to speculate about this at all. Why? because they have admitted that they are. The more intelligent people have realised for some time that they are biased, but now we have their admission which has been printed in the press during the last few days.
Most of their job ads. get placed in the 'Guardian Newspaper', a well known left wing rag, so it is hardly surprising that you get a biased lot. Even our politicians have raised the issue of their bias, so clearly, they are also concerned. You will get some left wing respondents to your question, so don't expect them to admit it.

For an American, that is two sensible question you have just asked. Of course it has a left wing bias, hasn't everything touched by New Labour. This country is in desperate need for a revolution, and mark my words it will come

Seen from America, Europe is left-wing. Seen from Europe, America is right-wing. Consider that liberal Democrats in Europe would mostly fall on the right wing of the aisle. Values and practices differ. In Europe you do not have "extreme" right wing speakers like Rush Limbaugh or Ann Coulter. Extreme right in Europe are Nazis.

the BBC has diffucult job comparing left from right.it has however supported the labour party in the past .but mr murdoch has a lot of influence in party politics on both sides of the pond.he should have stayed in aussie land .what i have seen of the fox news is not impressive very american ,dont give a toss about anybody else around the world.one -sided opinion sorry to say to you .but we are lucky here in the u,k we will not tolerate gamemanship like that here.we do not pay to vote for a leader in the u.k we are glad to say a democratic nation.

Absolutely. Frequently I've screamed at the TV set. They parcel their views as fact, which is such an irresponsible thing for a television station to do.
