It's a matter of selective attention. Life is a process, some things emerging from the void, other things dissolving back into it. Creation and destruction are 2 sides of the same coin. Even the distinction between one "thing" and other is a matter of attention. Where does one thing leave off and another begin? When I start thinking about this and quit thinking about that, where did "that" go?

The interesting thing is to explore all this in your own consciousness. How much "free" will do you actually have? If you're afraid, or in lust, or full of anger, can you let them go and choose peace?

No the ages and eons function independent of will. At the end of each eon a bird flies over the Himalayas with a silk scarf in its mouth brushing the mountains, when the mountains are finally worn down to the sea, then a new age dawns and another face of Brahman is shown.
