If it is, who am I hating???

fascfiter: if EVERYONE has their own definition of marriage, then it does not mean ANYTHING

that's great (a name not fitting, BTW)
I guess I am "covertly" bashing gays, polygymists (sp), pedifiles, incestuous relationships, and tax cheats (inheritence between spouses is tax free, all other pay taxes over a certain amount) Someone could marry their elderly parent to save millions in inheritence tax.
ktmamax: It need not have ANYTHING to do with a religion. JP's would be fine.
Or other people deemed acceptable by the state.

Atheism isn't hateful contained in in the slightest degree. that isn't to declare that there are some atheist who're hateful, yet many are friendly and accepting of people. in assessment to lots of the main widespread religions, atheism is a gadget that would coincide with all religions; monotheistic, polytheistic, nature, or in any different case. In my own adventure, i've got met some Christians who're downright hateful to people of alternative religions. Being an atheist delivers the liberty to have faith something, without the regulations of a god or gods/goddess to assuage. Now there are distinctive cases a Christian or a Muslim or a member of (insert faith right here) has felt wronged via an atheist giving his/her very own opinion this is opposite to their own and went on line or on some style of media and complained that 'Atheists are all hateful jerk-offs.' And mutually as some are. maximum are not, purely like in (insert faith right here) there are hateful people who're greater observed than others.

No it isn't hateful.

marriage is a Social contract with community impact. The community sets the standards for what is acceptable for a legal marriage. They decide minimum age, gender, species (you can't marry your horse) or any criteria they choose.

You are a member of socity. You re not only entitled to your opinion but as a voting citizen, you should have an opinion. Having an unpopular position is not hating.

LOL... No, it's not hateful, but you'll get plenty of folks telling you it's hateful and bigoted.

I'm willing to throw them a bone, though...
What if we keep the definition of "marriage" be what you stated PLUS that the marriage has to be performed by a minister/pastor in church.
ALL other unions should be civil unions.

Sadly I'm predicting many thumbs down from both sides...

You are not hateful. That is what marriage should be. A man and a woman can make a family on their own. It always takes a man & woman to make a baby.

When they tell you that is hateful. They are really only telling you the types of thoughts they are having about you for saying something they don't like.

No it is not hateful

The only thing that would make it hateful would be if you said you wanted it that way because gay people are evil.

Yes.

Because it prooves you need to covertly bash gays.

Who are you kidding?

If you need the Government to define marriage for you, stay single!

The question itself is cowardly, reactive, hence ultra conservative.
