Just wondering if people are complaining about not having coverage when what they real mean is that the none working family members have none .
Remember that you have to be contributing and working to have anything .
Family problems often lead to poor productivity on the job . Your spouse can be cause for emotional stress reducing productivity at work . Single workers are much more efficient and men more so then women who need days off to deal with medical issues of abortion or vaginal problems with stds and reproductive issues raising employer provided insurance costs .
SO when women in the work place complain about men receiving hire pay it is because they are more productive and have fewer medical needs . Before you women go nuts be honest . In determining pay should I consider the cost of medical care for women verses men on a purely financial bases .Admit it cost an employer much more for women then men . SO its not that you are not getting equal pay , your paying your way.

I work for a small business with only 4 employees and yes my employer provides me with health insurance, he does not cover family members, but I do not have to pay any part of the premium. Granted the health coverage is not the best, but my boss often pays for any other medical bills that I incur such as the deductibles. Fortunately, I have a good employer, one of the benefits of working for a Democrat.

This is like the mortgage bailout. Sure, there are some without health insurance because they can't afford it, but this way we would also have to pay for the deadheads who choose NOT to buy health insurance because they would rather have a cell phone and cable tv and other necessities. As a sidebar, I was thinking about medicare the other day. I am 61 and have basic health and pay $189 a month. When I reached 55 my premium went up. When I reach 65 I have to go on medicare. What would happen if instead of medicare they did an average of old people and came up with a figure divided by all the oldsters between 65-75 then 76-85 then 86-95 and taking in consideration that some have lots of med problems and others rarely go to the doctor that it would cost say $200 a month for each of these medicare folks to be covered, and the government just sends say my basic health $200 bucks for me and I keep paying my $189 when I am 65 and that $200 plus mine would keep me on my health care plan. All the government would have to do is write a check rather than have that huge elephant of a medicare thing to deal with. One figure I saw was 90% have med insurance and 10% don't, that is a small amount to create a new bureaucracy over....that could also be solved the same way as medicare. I am not a sharp person so I could not see or figure out how much fraud could happen with my plan.

My employer does have a health insurance program as part of the benefits package. The cost of copays and yearly deductibles has increase by about 70% since I started the job about 4 years ago. If you want to add a person to it you have to pay something like another $400 per person per month. It used to cover vision and dental but doesn't anymore.

edit:

I think your remarks are crude. How much a person adds to the problem is related to their health status not if they are a man or a woman.

That's an untrue statement you just made. Actually you made an assumption on gender which is a form of discrimination and could lead to many more problems than you would want. If your employees formed a union they would all make the same wage and benefits. Now your management side of things would be on you to pay them on what you feel was appropriate and for the benefits that are offered to them.

Here is my problem with women, and I am a woman. My office overlooks the smoking area at my company. There are 3 pregnant women, covered under our health insurance, that are outside smoking at least 3-4 times a day. Talk about a person contributing to the cost of healthcare. It is ridiculous for pregnant women to be smoking when we know the harm it can do to an unborn child.

I'm a secretary at a truck repair facility where the men are the majority. Let me tell you, we all have the same insurance, and we pay the same amount for it. The men are babies and are constantly going to the doctor for every little thing that goes wrong with them. Not us women.

Okay, I don't even know how to respond to this.....are you serious!?!?

I can't believe that you even think that's a fair argument. As a matter-of-fact, my 2 year old son is sick today and my husband is home with him. We take turns caring for our son because both of our jobs are important. My husband even does the laundry and cleans the bathroom - welcome to 2007!

You are ignorant and obviously a complete idiot! I could say so much more but I won't give you the satisfaction, I thought this was a serious question!

If you look at insurance rates, you will actually see that it cost more for men.

When I paid for my own insurance, I had to look at a chart to find what I needed to pay. Men and women had separate charts. Every corresponding value on the men's chart was higher than the women's.
I'm not sure where you get your information.

No, I'm employed by a small business owner. The company only has eight employees. So, I do not have health-care coverage...

I tried, but can't get coverage on my own that is affordable, due to "pre-existing conditions". It stinks, because so much of my income goes to health-care.

By the way your assertions are unfounded, and sexist.

Source? lolololololololololol........
I don;t even know where to start with your misinformation...your avatar has grey hair...I believe we should pay you less, because you are older and cost us more money. BTW, I am the boss, with mostly men under me (just like I like it!) and this is the first time i have had health insurance. ALSO the first time I have been paid fairly. I am single, my man has no health insurance, but he has worked at the same place for 10 years. He will end up more than doubling my premium when we get married. Those were your original questions...how you changed it into a ***** fest about your inablity to get a woman is beyond me...
