Just following the talking points of their heroes, Pelosi and Reid. They have so much invested in it failing , they can't help themselves.

Did you forget the liberal judgment as soon as it was proposed -- beyond now? what did you expect?
PS -- there's no first "e" in spelling: judgment.
Now, seriously (and I'm a republican)... a war isn't a "work in progress" and how Iraq's been handled has been an absolute joke, that costs lives as our President etc. golfs and enjoys Washington black-tie events, and ignores all the topics that brought this to a boil -- awful HUMVEES being used (hello? roadside bombs kill 80% of our troops!!) that happened, because of a contract with South Africa (made there), I believe. The connection between Bubba Clinton/Scooter Libby (Marc Rich's DC lobbyist in the 90s, and Rich was Saddam's corruption/moneyman, right?) and Cheney -- something never, ever, ever EVER talked about the silly partisan gab-shows anywhere (even after Clinton pardoned Marc Rich at the strong protesting our our FBI and CIA for a reported $6mil payoff to his Libary/fund). I can go on, and border open-ness with Iran -- which is HORRID and no Martial Law declared, especially after the first 1,000s of troops kills AFTER the "war" was won.. but why?

Do you honestly think that one or a hundred more "surges" will somehow quell the violence in Iraq and pacify the resistance? A million US troops in Iraq wouldn't be enough to stop the violence - quite the contrary. Immediate withdrawal of all foreign troops from Iraq is the only solution to this disastrous war. This isn't a "liberal" opinion, merely the obvious truth.
Perhaps you should read and research the history of the Vietnam War to fully understand why surges and increases in military occupational forces only worsen the situation and foster more resistance. Those who fail to learn from their past mistakes are doomed to repeat them...

That's not a "liberal tendancy" as far as I'm aware. Its simply that anyone with even a cursory knowledge of military strategy knows its not going to work. Pointing that out ahead of time isn't "passing judgement on a work in progress" in the sense you mean.
The respons, of course, is "but you can't know it won't work." Wrong. A knowledge of history and military history shows tha tsuch efforts do not work. The fact that the Bush administration and their supporters never bothered to look at the historical record doesn't invalidate the knowledge of those of us who did.

First of all: People identifying the re-building of Iraq as still remaining at war with Iraq... Need to wake up from a four-year slumber. Either that or get off the dope.
We are not at war with Iraq.
We are at war (figuratively speaking) with terrorists and insurgents located in, around and near Iraq.
The same people who twist, distort, deceive and outlandishly describe Bush and Cheney as Hitler(ish) and starting a war to gain financial rewards because of their vested interests in oil and assisting all their "good friends" in making millions due to all the oil they're stealing from Iraq...
Also need to put down the crack pipes and take a lesson in learning from Bill & Hillary Clinton.
Signed,
Walmart and Exxon stock holding duo
Bill & Hillary Clinton

I'm so sick of politics. Both parties doing what's good for themselves meanwhile the American people suffer. They want to be tough on illegal immigration but don't want to finish building the wall. They supported the troops at first attack no vote to take their money/support away. Why has all the logic been sucked dry out of Washington??

The surge isnt a liberal vs. conservative question....many conservatives feel the war plan has been a complete failure...this is an issue of those for the war and those opposed

They were saying that before the first troops got off the ground in the US.
Any thing to put a knife in the backs of our men and women. If anyone thinks this statement is untrue then ask ANY OF OUR TROOPS..
But Bush sure has not fired back as a man with any muster about him should.
The generals on the ground in Iraq have all ways said it will take 10 years to stabilize Iraq. If you think back so did Bush.

Obviously, YOU have a tendency to pass judgement as you ASSume you know how everyone feels and thinks...
I would surmise that attitudes such as yours (which views fellow US citizens as the enemy) fosters the global problems we endure.

when your sons and\or daughters lives that are on the line you can criticize too...
Republicans talk a good game about supporting the troops but stab them in the back once they're done with them.
If all the Republican and Democrat politicians are so gung-ho in their "support the troops" rhetoric, why has not one member of Congress objected or even commented on the Bush administration's cut of more than SEVEN BILLION DOLLARS from the Veterans' Administration annual budget?

Speaking of 9/11 (isn't that why we went to Iraq - or was it PNAC under a 9/11 cover?) - did Bush ever catch bin Laden? Why do the dittoheads not seem to care that Bush let bin Laden just skate out of Tora Bora? Almost like the dittoheads don't seem to like America. I guess daily brainwashing will do that to a dittohead...
