The GOP is on the brink of a formal break up like the old Whigs party they replaced. Funny how the corruption cycle follows the same party lines isn't it. Fiscal Republicans know the neo-cons have destroyed any credibility within the GOP that wont be repaired for 50 years. Americans have had it with the lying Republicans.

Hypothetically, lets say both Clinton and Rudy win their primaries. In a general election Bloomberg would take away votes from Clinton. I live in NY, and have always looked at Bloomberg as a democrat anyway. A lot of my friends who are democrats would rather vote for him than Clinton. Conversely, the people I know who are republicans, don't agree with him now, let alone if he ran for president.

I don't think this will have much effect, as Rudy is losing ground to Fred Thompson already.....the issue is that Fred has the same concerns as Rudy does. he used to be pro-choice a few years ago, and has now changed his stance to appeal to Republicans....true conservatives are going to have a tough time voting for a person that was pro-choice. He may be able to get past it, but Guliani has not been able to.

As real republicans become more disenfranchised via the neo-con take over of the party, they will seek other venues, hopefully independent.
