I use vixy.net or mediaconverter.org, but vixy gives me files that are DivX, which is something WMM doesn't like. Media converter takes a pretty long time. Does anyone know a quick way to download videos from YouTube, aside from downloading as DivX?

You can easily download videos from YouTube (and other sites) by using Mozilla FireFox and installing the VideoDownloader extension at https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2390/
Or if you prefer you may copy the link of the desired video and paste into this Web site http://keepvid.com/ to download.

I use VDownloader from www.enriquepuertas.com (freeware). I open that program from the desktop, locate and click on the video clip at YouTube I want to download (so that it starts playing), right click on its URL in the address box at the top of the MSIE screen, maximize the VDownloader window, and paste the URL in its address box. Then I click on the Download button, and the rest is automatic, even the conversion of the YouTube video to standard format. (Wait for that to finish before downloading another video.)

Try VideoGet. It download from YouTube and other 150+ video websites. And convert them into WMV, AVI, MPG, 3GP, MP4, etc.

when using vixi, u can select different file types like mp4, avi, and lots more. One of those formats should work for you.
