can anyone tell me what is the best media to use for growing grammatophyllum speciosum in a pot... I am thinking of growing it in a big pot.... maybe about 1m diameter and 0.6m depth...

Also what is the best way to keep the plant happy... light, fertilization, watering etc.??

Anyway to induce flowering for this plant.. and normally how big must it grow until before it flower ??

Some of the more compact species can be raised in tubs in a warm humid greenhouse... repeat: warm, humid whereas the largest are best cultivated outdoors in tropical gardens. Bright light maintains a robust plant character. Copious water and fertilization are required during growth. Flowering is in spring but can also happen in autumn after a particularly warm sunny growing period. Since they typically grow in the crown of tall palm trees, the growing medium should have excellent drainage such as orchid bark. Don't choose anything that holds water too long.
