contact the district attorney's office and talk to them. The items were probably held as eveidnce as a matter of routine. But, if it is a hardship, they should be able to release it to you.

The "authorities" don't want to be much help. You can probably go to the next "police Auction" and bid on your items for much less than the retail cost of replacement. You might also see if your local newspaper will report the incident, in hopes of shaming your authorities into returning the goods. You can't go boating and your wife can't watch television so maybe you should devote that time to exposing the "authorities" and putting the pressure on.

If they are evidence in the case, the police will not give them back. They are kept pending the trail or hearing. I had things stolen that were my son's belongings and I was told I could never get them back because they were now property of the state since they were tagged as evidence. Try calling the district attorney and asking if certain things cannot be returned. They may be nice about it and sympathetic and return some items?

get a group of heavily armed men together and storm the police headquarters and extract your items in a military fassion. LOL

or just wait for them to finish with the items, but I would call and complain like every day or twice a day. complaining does wonders to speed up the process.

oh btw i was j/k about storming the police station LOL!

If it's used for evidence, it would seem to me that you would get it back after the trial. But lord knows when that will be.

Sell your boat to replace your necessities and stop whining.
