Im getting married soon, and due to be on my period. The doctor gave me Norethisterone tablets to take three days before my period. And this is to last so that I could be delayed on my period for 1 week. Once I have finished those, I start my period. When I start my period I being on 'the pill' (this is the first time using them) for 21 days, then having a gab for 7 days, for another period and so on..... The question is, when I start on 'the pill' (the first day of my period) how long do I need before I can have sexual intercourse, whilst still on 'the pill'.
Hope this makes sence, thanks.

I dont understand why you are doing it like this. Why dont you start taking the pill now, you only get your period when you stop taking the pill so rather than taking the Norethisterone just carry on taking the pill (straight on to the next packet) that way you can stop and have your period when you want to. Its perfectly safe and many women do it, i know women that havent had a period for years as they take the pill constantly, but i feel its better to have a period when its convenient. I should add that though we are calling them periods while you are on the pill they are not 'true' periods. Also though this would delay your period for your wedding it doesnt mean you are fully protected and you would need to take extra precautions (use condoms too) for a month. Hope that helps.

You should use other forms of contraception for the first month on the pill just to be cautious. By the way, there is a pill now that you take every day with no gaps so that you don't ovulate and have no periods for as long as you like. What a great idea!

I was told at the clinic that if you start the pill at the beggining of your period it is effective when your period is over. If you start it at any other point, it takes 2 weeks.
Hormonal Birth Control has a failure rate, 1 in 20 women will get pregnant within a year!

Use another form of protection while using your first pill pack. After you've finished your first pack then you should be safe. If you should miss a pill, use another form of protect for 7 days. Good luck and always have safer sex.

is effective that same day becasue you are on your period but even though i would wait about 7 days to be more safe. i would also rather wait at least a month but you read the pill package instruction paper it tells you that you are cover automatically so read it.

Tell hubby to be to wait. Or use your hands or mouth on him even both until you are ready for the real Mc Coy. If he plans to spend the rest of his life with you I'm sure he will wait a few days.
