An American rock singer, songwriter and is also occasionally an actor. Iggy Pop is his stage name, anyway. His name is really James Newell Osterberg, Jr. More information in the below link.

Iggy Pop is a punk singer who has a band called the Stooges. One of his most commercially successful songs is "Lust For Life," which was featured in the movie Trainspotting, and has recently been used in the Carnival cruise commercials (at least I think it's Carnival- it may be another cruise company- it's the commercial where the guy is golfing on the cruise ship and blows his shot when the ship horn blows and distracts him.)

He is/was an extreme punk rock artist.(or at least he was in the 80's) He Did some stuff with Bowie years back which brought him back to the music scene again. I think he also did some stuff with Kurt Cobain but haven't heard it.
