The surge could have happened again because your body was not able to release the egg and it was trying again. If you are having a lot of positive results then you really should go see a doctor because it could indicate a problem such as PCOS. A websight that has helped me a lot with these tests and has pictures of results is:

It also addresses the issue you are having. Good luck.

Melissa is correct but also, some women actually do ovulate more than once per month. Prime example- fraternal twins- they are two seperate eggs that were both fertilized. Maybe you should try the digital opk. Only because it is hard to rely on those lines. The digital easily says ovulating or not ovulating. Or get the kind I had- smiley face- ovulating, no smiley face-not ovulating. Also keep in mind an opk tells you that you are GOING to ovulate within 24-36 hours, not that you already ovulate. The first surge could be your level going up and the second could be your level coming down. The thrid could be either another egg dropping or as Melissa said the first egg that didn't make it. If you didn't have sex the day AFTER the second one chances are good but not best but the two days you had sex before are good also. And speaking of bbting. That's not always accurate either. MY bbt this month said I o'd on 6/6 but I had a positive opk on 6/9 so go figure. I'm going to see a fertility spec today so hopefully I can get some clarification.

Good luck and baby dust

Possibly your other ovary was releasing an egg. Have you and your husband had fertility tests? A lot of STD's can lay undetected but are decreasing your fertility. 40% of infertility problems are because of STD's. 6 months isn't that long to TTC. Look at Natrual Family Planning by Kippley and get a Lady Q ovulation microscope. It looks like a lipstick and way cheaper than ovulation monitors and sticks.

That's not true about the fraternal twins and all eggs being released within 24 hours. My aunts ultrasouns showed her fraternal twins (girl and boy) always measuring at a two week growth difference. The doctor TOLD her she got pregnant again after she got pregnat. It's rare but it can happen. I've even seen fraternal twins with two different fathers on Maury.

Ok, I tried everything there is.
BBT, ovul. tests, pillows, etc.
I borrowed a Clear Plan Fertility Monitor from a friend, and took Musinex cough meds for 2 weeks after my period. I even got a Pre-seed cream from the website.
I got a positive 9dpo. So the point is those tests didnt work for me, the Monitor was more accurate.

Go get a book called" Taking Charge of your fertility: by Toni Weschler". My husband and I tried for a year doing what you were doing and had no luck. After I got the book I realized that my info was wrong!!!! The book cleared up all the myths that women have been told about their bodies. It worked the very next month and now I have a beautiful 5 month old baby girl.

Women cannot ovulate more than once during one cycle. Even when more than one egg are released (like fraternal twins) all eggs are released within 24 hour period. Your repeat surges may signal hormonal imbalance such as PCOS. You should see a doctor.

The more anxious you get it's worst.
You really must have to relax and let things go by theirselves.
You must think in enjoying life and making love with your hubby and don't be always thinking in getting pregnant.
When we are nervous our body has strange reactions, so... go with the flow hun!
Wishing you the best of luck!
Let me know when you get pregnant!
I know it will be very soon!

Get a basal thermometer. They're highly accurate.
