A shelter can be a good place to get a dog. Mutts are actually hardier and healthier than most pure bred animals.
Just remember this, DO NOT just get the first cute puppy you see.
Check their temperament. See how much they bite and act up.
Look for a calmer more attentive puppy who looks happy.
Research the breeds that you like, in shelters there are alot of pitbull, boxers, Australian cattle dog, and blue heeler crosses. The first two can be aggressive only get one if its a puppy. The last two need a lot of space, which you indicated you have.

What ever puppy you choose, make sure that's the one you want. Look at many puppies, test them out, play with them. Take your time picking the right pup for you.

Good Luck, and personally I have mutt, pound pups and I love umm, they out lasted all of our purebreds and had a much sweeter manor about the.

Have fun puppy shopping!

ALWAYS try to adopt homeless pets.

The poor things need a loving home. Even your local shelter has adoptions.
I will never understand why people would pay ridiculous amounts to own a dog. I once read someone paying over $2000.00 for a dog!!!!
You can adopt pure bred dogs without it's papers, unless you are planning on breeding them.
Adoption agencies will help you will all the information that you need to get started.
Google search pure bred dogs for adoption.

PLEASE ADOPT!

i think of maximum of your questions have been replied. I surely have had puppy rats for quite a few years. i've got not got any at the instant. I surely have discovered male rats to be greater loveable. women are so lots greater playful, yet frequently no longer as affectionant. One very inportant element is to ensure which you do have a minimum of a million to 2 hours an afternoon to dedicate to them. they want there out of cage play time and time to be with you. stable success and that i'm specific you would be an superb rat mommie.

yes the humane society is a great place b/c the animals there need homes to. they need someone to love them as well. the best kind to get for you i would suggest a Labrador retriever. they are loyal and very kind, as well as gentle loving animals. i think that, that would be great for your first pet for yourself. you can ask the humane society if they have any labs. and they may have one, it may not be full blooded but that's o.k. you will never find a more loyal friend than that!! GOOD LUCK finding your new friend and congrats!!!!
